Happy 4-th of July!

Today is Independence Day. In Latvia the Latvians are all flying flags however it is not for such a joyful occasion. The Fourth of July in Lavia is set aside to honor the memory of the Jews killed by the Nazi's, nearly 9000 Latvian Jews were killed. They fly the flag with a blck ribbon tied to the top in rememberance.
The 4th of July is also Zenja's ( Richards brother) birthday and the kids are getting him a cake later tonight and we will shoot off some fire works for Independence Day.
Yesterday Richards mother invited our family over to their flat for cake and coffee. It was wonderful to see her and we got to meet Richards' sister Jana, who is visiting from Ireland with Richards' new nephew, Dominic. Zoija, Ricky's mother is feeling better and we appreciat all the people who prayed for her earlier in the year when she was ill.

Hope that Friday night was everything you hoped it to be and that many of the Latvian kids invited Jesus to be their Saviour.
